Quoted by RV size & condition

All boat and RV services are quoted individually based on vessel size, length, and condition. We assess before quoting — no surprises. Gel coat work in particular varies significantly by how far oxidation has progressed and how many stages of correction are needed.

What Is
Gel Coat Polish?

Gel coat is the outer surface layer on fiberglass boats — it's what gives your hull that gloss finish. Over time, UV exposure, water, and weathering oxidize the gel coat, turning it chalky, dull, and faded. Polishing restores it.

Oxidation

The most common issue on older boats. UV rays break down the gel coat surface, creating a chalky, faded appearance. Machine compounding cuts through the oxidized layer and reveals the original gloss underneath.

Water Staining

Mineral deposits and waterline staining are common on hulls that sit in the water regularly. These are treated with specialized compounds and chemical cleaners before polishing begins.

Swirl Marks & Scratches

Surface-level marks from improper washing, trailering, or dock contact. Machine polishing removes or significantly reduces these without touching the underlying gel coat structure.

UV Protection

After polishing, a UV-protective sealant or ceramic coating is applied to protect the restored surface and slow future oxidation. Without protection, oxidation returns faster.

Send us photos of your vessel and tell us what you're looking for. We'll assess the condition and give you a straight quote before anything is booked.

02

We Come to You

We work at your marina, storage facility, driveway, or wherever your boat is. No need to haul it anywhere. We bring the equipment to the job.

03

Gel Coat Assessment

For polishing work, we assess the oxidation level in person before starting. Lightly oxidized boats may need one stage; heavily faded hulls may need two or three passes.

04

Back on the Water

Results are immediate — the gloss is visible as soon as polishing is complete. We apply UV sealant before wrapping up so the finish holds through the season.

Common
Questions.

Run your hand across the hull — if it feels rough, chalky, or leaves a white residue on your hand, the gel coat is oxidized and will respond well to polishing. Visually, oxidized gel coat looks dull, faded, or chalky rather than glossy. Even moderate oxidation can be brought back dramatically with machine polishing. Send us photos and we'll tell you what to expect.
In most cases, yes. Heavy oxidation requires more aggressive compounding and multiple stages of correction, but the results are usually significant. The exception is gel coat that has been oxidized through to the fiberglass — at that point no amount of polishing can restore it and repainting or gelcoating is the only option. We'll assess and tell you honestly what's possible before starting.
A smaller fishing boat or jet ski might take 2–4 hours. A full-size pontoon or bowrider typically runs 4–8 hours depending on oxidation level. We give you a time estimate when we quote the job. Heavily oxidized boats that need multiple stages will take longer — we'd rather do it right than rush.
It's worth it. A ceramic coating applied after gel coat polishing locks in the restored finish and significantly slows future oxidation. It also makes the hull dramatically easier to clean — water beads off, algae and grime don't bond as easily. Without any protection, oxidation starts returning much faster. A spray sealant is included with every polish — ceramic is an upgrade that extends the protection for years rather than months.
Yes — ceramic coating for boat interiors is one of the most practical upgrades we offer. Applied to vinyl seats, dash surfaces, and hard interior panels, it repels sunscreen, fish oils, food spills, and UV damage. Interior vinyl that's been coated is dramatically easier to wipe down and holds up better over multiple seasons. We recommend pairing it with an exterior hull coating at the same appointment for the best overall protection package.
Yes — we bring everything to wherever your boat is stored or docked. Marinas, indoor storage facilities, outdoor lots, your driveway — wherever it's parked. We just need reasonable access to work around the vessel. Locations outside the Fargo-Moorhead area may include a travel fee, which we'll quote upfront.
